A paper-based simulation that produces a measurable change in defect rate inside one workshop day — not as a metric, but as something the cohort feels.
The cohort begins in chaos. Round 1 runs the operation as designed — orders pile up, work moves randomly, defects rise to 60-80%. Participants name the waste themselves, in their own words. Nobody has to teach them what waste is.
Round 2 brings awareness. Five-minute teaching blocks on 5S, visual management, and standard work. Round 2 runs the same orders, same customers, same dashboard — but now with discipline. Defect rate falls toward 20%. The team feels the difference.
Round 3 is maturity. VSM, fishbone, 5 Whys. The cohort redesigns the operation at root cause, then runs it for 25 minutes under the same load. Defect rate falls under 5%. The team built it. They sign the A3 and pin it to a wall.

Frequently asked
How long is the workshop?
Six hours, including breaks. Three 25-minute rounds, three retrospectives, four teaching blocks, and a final A3 build. Half-day variants are not supported — the teaching is in the round-to-round comparison.
Can it run virtually?
No. The simulation requires physical paper, an open floor, and shared room presence. Virtual variants break the teaching mechanic.
What size cohort?
15-19 (sweet spot 17). For 24 participants, run a slightly larger cohort with two scoring leads. Beyond 24, run two cohorts on consecutive days.
Which industry version should I pick?
Pick the version that matches your largest client or business unit. If you serve multiple industries, the Combined Bundle gives you all six.
Do I need facilitator training?
The Facilitator Guide that ships with every kit is enough for a confident first session. For deeper certification, the Train-the-Trainer licence is the path.
